Under the sea update....as in almost done!

Since dd is due on Friday, its a good thing I got all fish sewed on to quilt.I was prepared to add turtle, octopus..and dd said it is fine the way it is. So now planning the quilting. Got some lovely thread(Japanese) in variagated sea colors...which will be used to quilt. Hoping to get quilt sandwich put together tomorrow...do a little practice machine quilting...then off to the races! Still have a few other things to sew up for crib...like bed skirt and rocker pillow covers. We decided to use the leftover fish fabric for pillows. Thanks for the kind comments and the suggestions...think waves and bubbles might be a wonderful thing to try. Still have to set off quilt with thin black border..then more batik fabric. It looked good....earlier but too tired to cut black strips tonight. Be back later.

Hello Colleen - gosh, what a lovely time I've had looking at your bits and pieces! Thanks for visiting my blog - I'm so glad you did. I love the undersea quilt - I once did an appliqué of a seascape for a cushion at a preschool (long story) ... like you I had rocks and seaweeds and starfish. I think I also had a big red octopus and a green and purple turtle!

Oh dear ... look at me, I've only just arrived and already I'm using up loads of comment space. Sorry!

:-) x

Hello Colleen formerly of South Africa. Thank you for stopping by and saying hello. I'm glad you did so I could see this beautiful quilt. I am not very crafty, but I am good with a glue gun and a blow dryer. I hope you have a great week and thanks again for the hello.

That is an amazing quilt! Really beautiful.

You sound like you had quite an adventure returning to the states, and then tornadoes to boot. We had tornados in Wisconsin on January 7 this year. We were pretty shocked at how early it happened here too.

Hope the delivery goes well!

thanks for stopping by. you are quite talented. your quilts are beautiful.

i can not even sew, though i tried quilting. sounds funny, huh? i cut everything out and my sister put it all together. i enjoyed the cutting, though it was more of a social thing as we did it in a group.

take care!

Colleen--thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I love yours.

Please feel free to email me, rather than post publicly, if you want to. I'm just curious where you are. . are you in TN?

We're outside of Knoxville. When you mentioned the tornado -- it tells me that you're somewhere west of me. We had high winds, but no real storms.

I hope you're enjoying being back in the states.
