Finished Under the sea quilt!!! SNOW Days.

Its finished... today is DD's due date... but no progress... if nothing happens by next Friday, that will be his birthday.
These are DD's cats...and in true Academy Awards style...." I couldn't have done it without their help and assistance!!!!" Using DD's sewing machine...left much to be desired...missing my very own machine. Stored (hopefully ) somewhere in Texas...unless the professor put it by the dumpster....don't think he would have, he knows he'd just have to buy me a new one! Hmmmmmmm maybe I could just never find it...and get a new one out of him anyway....???? May need to ponder that a bit more. At any rate... this is how it looks...prepressing... the edges looked wavy...but laid flat after I stepped on them...but by then my "helpers" were back...so no other photos. I am feeling ok about the quilting.... but didn't get it to do as much as I would have liked. Her machine drags...doesn't have drop feed...should have morphed up a cover.... so my stitching wasn't as good as I would have preferred. To be truthful...would have liked to have hand quilted it...but no time. I wish I had a photo of my first Grandaughter's quilt...I did hand quilt that one...and it was a Twinkle Twinkle theme. Maybe DD in law..will take a photo for me. I have made all the GK's a quilt... pretty much asking their parents to give me an idea...if not...I did what I wanted.Still have lots more ideas ...but have run out of grandbabies! It snowed here...and call me crazy...but Middle Tennessee are sissies when it comes to snow.I am posting the SNOW that caused the schools to cancel.HEck in Texas...they walked in 8 inches of snow ......NOT in their bare feet.... before the school board would cancel school! Its crazy, but school has been canceled 3 times since I have been here...and we haven't had more than an inch or two. Also is the little neighbor girl who was home because of NO SCHOOL! Now I get to work on at least one unfinished...actually 3 MIP's (masterpieces in progress) and figure out what to start next!I will be sitting at the hospital soon! Have a great weekend...we are going walking ...in the mall to get DD's labor Party started. At least that is the plan.

Oh, your quilt is just beautiful! I should do one for my grandson... maybe.

Tennesee snow... Well, we had 9 inches overnight Tuesday to Wednesday near Rochester, NY. They never even considered cancelling school. Guess its whatever we get used to.

Wow you do great work. I can only crochet but I have made a few small blankets. I think those cats are thinking: "I wonder if those fish are tasty?"

Thanks for the visit.

The undersea quilt is so beautiful! Really, really nice. And such a contrast to the snow ...

BTW, your last photo made me laugh -- the red light fixture or fan or whatever it is looks like a hovering UFO!

Under The Sea is absolutely fabulous - it's going to be very well loved *s*
From here in almost sunny soCal that looks like a lot of snow to me, but with cleared streets it doesn't seem like it's insurmountable. Go figure.

The quilt is wonderful. I love it. I made a "Pirate" quilt for my great grandson. That was the theme of his nursery. Rather difficult to find the fabric, but I did. Lots of love goes into these don't they.

Is it the fish on the quilt, or just the quilt itself that attracts the cats... It looks wonderful with the borders on. That is one lucky baby.

Wow! It looks beautiful! Like I said, you are so talented. I can sew a little, maybe a pillow, but that is it. Have fun with the new baby...I love new baby smell...not brand new, they need to get the goo off first, but after that...mmmmmm!

I believe that "red light fixture" is a hummingbird feeder, yes?

The quilt is stunning - and will, I'm sure, be much loved.

I tried that brisk walking thing to bring on labour - not a sausage. I was told a hot bath, a hot curry and hot sex would also work. Who the hell wants to do the latter at 9 months pregnant? :-O

Hope the (eventual) delivery goes well. x

You are definitely out of Africa! Nice "dusting" of snow you have there, lol, snow sissies indeed. Your Under the Sea quilt is gorgeous, the fish glow...did you know there is a cat "fishing" on your quilt?... and he looks hungry!

I do love your quilt, and how perfect for a baby -- all the colors and things to look at. A real treasure. We had snow here Friday night in Massachusetts; about 6 or 8 inches on top of all the stuff we've still got on the ground from all the other storms this year....

Lovely quilt. I have "first granddaughter's quilt" stored safely at my mom's house. I couldn't risk bringing it all the way to Korea. So I can get you a picture of that one sometime this summer. Very exciting about the baby coming by Friday! ~jen~

What a nice quilt you made. I enjoy making grandkids quilts and each (have 4) now have a quilt, and am on round two of making them bigger kid size quilts now. I also made a fish quilt for one grandson, but nothing nearly as pretty as yours.

Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a post. I have enjoyed reading yours and must tell you, I remember times when they closed the schools in SC just because there was a threat of snow!

Don't give up making baby quilts...never know when another grandchild will pop into the picture..and if not, there are still lots of baby who need them. Maybe just not quite so much work.
Have fun in your snow. Hugs, Finn
