America the beautiful, the buzz of the bees...Being thankful and being blessed!

What a great country we live in, I am reminded daily of the freedoms we enjoy, and so appreciate all of it.I know I am so fortunate to live in a clean community, with safe water to drink, one which is relatively crime free, where I can walk at night without fear, and am never afraid of the noises in the night! Something I will probably never take for granted again.

Well this month has flown by, not enough done, more plans that I'd like to get accomplished...but I am so thankful for the blessings in my life. In the past month or two, we have reconnected with friends from over 35 years ago, seen our two youngest grandchildren reach new milestones, first birthdays, walking, learning new tricks and DS2 and his Emmikins are expecting another bundle for us to love. Life is pretty grand at the moment. Have to share, a photo of the Professor in wonderment at all the bees buzzing in the trees while still in bloom. Then my friend showing the table topper she made and I quilted for her. She also did a charity quilt which I quilted for her. There is also a photo of another friends "Farmers Daughter" quilt.... I adored the colors of this scrappy quilt. I had the privilege of quilting it for her.

Then this wonderful applique quilt, an extremely talented lady here did and permitted me to quilt for her. I enjoyed each of these projects... for different reasons. Loved the color combinations, or the pattern...or just looking at the beautiful quilts while I put a design on them. I really am a blessed woman.

UFO's, Hattiesburg , MS Quilt show...and the Halloween finery of our wee one!

Well, still not heard if my ship is coming in ...this week...but holding thumbs that it will. I had so much fun doing the barbecue on Friday, also got this lovely picture of the wee one...in his Halloween finery. His mom sent this to me.... love those Amish MUMS in the background. I so wish I had some in my yard! Had to finally finish up my little Halloween UFO.....Then had the lucky opportunity to go to the Hattiesburg, MS quilt show on Sat. with a few new acquaintances. I think my eye must have changed, as much as I enjoyed seeing the variety of pieced quilts.....I really found myself focusing on the machine quilting on many of these. So if you are bored with some of my shared photos...so sorry, but was so excited to try new things.... that had to take a bunch of photos of the quilting.
there were so many pretty ones...they had over 480. So many really nice ones, I found it hard to choose ...but liked many for a multitude of reasons. Now I have always loved appliques...but some of the cool black and white pieced ones caught my eye as well.... as have been collecting them for years. I didn't see any civil war or DJ, another one I hoped to see ...as so want to do one of each. But plenty to get my mind working on the next batch of UFO's!!!This is a closeup of my favorite, white on white..wholecloth, absolutely stunning. She only got her longarm the beginning of the year. What a beauty! There is something for me to only aspire to! And the lovely pastel pink fabric on the back. It was gorgeous..pics don't do it justice. It was on a back wall...with not enough room for longer photo. But absolutely my favorite. It even beat out the Baltimore!Hope you all have a great day!

a new adventure is about to begin......

OK, Just back from a quick trip to Starkville, MISSISSIPPI, where the professor is going to be going shortly.DD, the wee one and myself went for a road trip to check out housing.Housing prices were a bit of a shock...but it is a college town...after all. But the campus is so pretty, and since the professor SAYS he reads my blog...thought I would post a few pics for him. Didn't get great photos...but since no quilting had to include a pic of one I made DD for her college graduation. It incorporated messages from many family members...then was put together in this way. I am off to see DS and daughter in law...and baby.... our little princess. So will be gone for a couple of days, hope you all have a great weekend. I am going to!
